In the early 1900s, Scranton was one of the foremost industrial cities in the country. It's estimated that one in every six railroad tracks in America was made in "Steamtown." Nearly 25% of the nation's clean-burning anthracite was also produced here during the same period.

Now that the tracks are gone and the coal largely exhausted, Scranton is home to a burgeoning services industry, two widely recognized universities and Stevens & Lee's Scranton office.
